Offered: Synopsis: This unit provides an introduction to some of the theoretical issues which must be considered when approaching a translation, with special attention given to the ethical issues and to the potential for value adding in the translation process. Practical strategies for getting a translation under way. Experience in translating a variety of different types of texts. Assessment: Written assignments (3500 words): 70% + Examination (1 hour): 30% Contact Hours: 1.5 hours per week Prerequisites: Monash post-level D Japanese or equivalent |
