JAL5210Advanced Studies in Teaching Japanese as A Foreign Language (12 points)(ARTS) Leader: Kyoko Ogawa and other staff
Offered: Synopsis: Whereas JAL4530 provides an introduction to a broad range of issues concerning Japanese language teaching and learning, this subject concentrates on more specialised and practical aspects important in course design and learning and teaching practice. Students will develop an understanding of theoretical studies in the area of teaching Japanese as a foreign language and raise the awareness of their own teaching/working and will increase their understanding of the range of options open to them. Assessment: Project (5000 words): 60% + Essay (4000 words): 40% Contact Hours: 2 hours (2 x seminar) per week Prerequisites: JAL4530 or JAL5530 or permission of instructor |
