Synopsis: The aim of the subject is to introduce students to the works of Dante Alighieri, the most important poet of the Middle Ages, through a reading of the Divina Commedia.

Assessment: Two assignments (1000 words each): 40% + Examination (2 hours) on three key Cantos: 40% + 3 seminar/workshop participation tasks: 20%

Contact Hours: 2 - 3 hours (2 x lectures and 1 x tutorial) per week

Prerequisites: Completion of second year Italian or equivalent knowledge of the language
