Women in Post World War II Italy (6 points)

Synopsis: The unit analyses the evolution of the social position of Italian women, from the Fascist period and the Resistance to the development of second-wave feminism between the 1970's and the beginning of the twenty-first century. Through an examination of social and legal changes, students will become familiar with the position of women in recent historical and social contexts up to the present day.

Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 35% + Two assignments (1500 words each): 50% + Seminar participation tasks:15%

Contact Hours: 3 hours (2 hour lecture and 1 tutorial) per week

Prerequisites: ITA2080, ITA2020 or equivalent knowledge of the language
