Synopsis: Normally a study based on local industry, but projects conducted experimentally or within the university are permitted. Individuals or pairs of student projects supervised by a member of staff. Industry based projects will also have an industry supervisor. The unit requires the preparation of an interim report, diaries, planning documents, poster and oral presentations at seminars.

Assessment: Reports and project thesis: 70% + In-course assessment: 30% (including diaries and oral presentations)

Contact Hours: 4 lectures, 152 project hours

Corequisites: At least one other level 4 IE & EM unit
