Synopsis: This unit is a continuation of the previous unit Furniture design 3. It seeks to develop a student's sophistication toward furniture concepts through a greater awareness of new materials and processes. In particular the students will have the opportunity to create full-size prototypes to evaluate how well their designs match up to particular technical and cultural requirements.

Assessment: Seminar paper: 20% + Folio of design work: 80%

Contact Hours: 6 hours per week including two studio hours and 4 hours independent study
