Offered: Synopsis: This unit serves as an introduction to the field of consumer product design. Teaching centres on the design of electrical appliances, with emphasis on production issues, value analysis, ergonomics, materials selection, and documentation for manufacture. Consumer appeal and market factors will also be taken into account. Assessment: Folio presentation of assigned projects: 100% Contact Hours: 6 points + 12 hours per week including 4 hours studio contact and 8 hours of independent study + Second semester, Caulfield + Prerequisites: IDE2113 and OHS1000 + Core unit for Bachelor of Industrial Design |
