GSC4305The Family Centred Worker in Context (12 points)(ARTS) Leader: Karen Crinall and Barbara Fraser
Offered: Synopsis: The unit continues an examination of the central ideas and skills shaping family centred practice, the individual within family, group, community and society; and the orientation of thinking in terms of relationships, context and use of language. It introduces students to the knowledge, skills and values of the therapeutic relationship. The conceptual and professional origins of the use of self as part of building a working alliance in family centred practice are identified and critically evaluated, particularly from gender and cultural perspectives. Contemporary developments in theory and practice are also studied and critiqued. Assessment: Literature review (2000 words): 25% + Presentation (30 minutes) and Report (1000 words): 25% + Project (4500 words): 50% |
