Synopsis: The application of sociological knowledge and the role of research in the evaluation of social issues. How sociological knowledge can be applied to explain the social dimensions and implications of substantive issues in contemporary Australian and other societies..

Assessment: One essay (5400 words): 60% + Seminar papers (total 3600 words): 40%

Prerequisites: First degree with a major in sociology or related discipline
