Research project: Observing behaviour (6 points)

Synopsis: This subject provides training in the design and conduct of independent research. Students will learn how to design and evaluate research in the area of animal behaviour; how to consider this in the context of animal welfare and ethics; how to conduct literature searches; how to successfully collect, analyse and interpret data; and how to communicate findings in written form with clarity.

Assessment: Literature review (500 words): 10% + Written research proposal (500 words): 10% + Ethics application: 5% + Poster presentation: 5% + Research project (5000 words): 70%
