Synopsis: On completion of this unit students will have improved their overall linguistic skills in French with special reference to language for higher study. Thy will have learnt to negotiate the specific culture and institutional structures of the French or French-speaking university system. They will have achieved the objectives and satisfied the requirements of the units they have chosen to study and which have been approved for study in the host institution. They will thereby have furthered their knowledge in the area of French studies.

Assessment: Students will satisfy the assessment requirements of the host institution for the units chosen and approved. Assessment results from the host institution will be returned by the student with copies of all non-examination assessed work. The French Studies Study Abroad Committee will determine a final mark in the light of the above elements.
