Telling Tales: An Introduction to French Narrative Fiction (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit will involve students in examining a range of narrative texts in French from historical and structural perspectives. Students will analyse and develop descriptions of various features of stories or narrative discourses and the processes of story-telling or narrative situations and relationships.

Assessment: Class presentation (1000 words in French): 25% + Essay (1000 words in French): 25% + Essay (1500 words in French): 35% + Three reading reports (300 words in French each): 15%

Contact Hours: 3 hours (1 x lecture and 1 x 2hour seminar) per week

Prerequisites: FRN1320, FRN1420 or FRN2020
