Synopsis: Upon completion of the unit students will be expected to (1) Identify the services and resources that are available to mentally disordered offenders (2) Explain the principles and issues of the legislation relating to mentally disordered offenders; (3) Apply knowledge of assessment and treatment of mentally disordered offenders to practice; (4) Recognise the unique clinical needs of subgroups of mentally disordered offenders; and (5) Discuss offending behaviour and its relationship to mental illness.
