ENH2050The Reader in History (6 points)(ARTS) Leader: H Love
Offered: Synopsis: The premise of this unit is that an education in 'English' is about learning to understand a variety of reading practices and that these can be historically contextualised. The approach will be chronological, moving forwards from practices that still have a strong oral component to present-day models of interpretative reading. Assessment: Exercise (1500 words): 30% + Essay (2000 words): 40% + Test (1 hour): 20% + Attendance and participation: 10% Contact Hours: 2 hours (1 lecture and 1 tutorial) per Prerequisites: A first-year sequence in English or permission Prohibitions: ENH3050 |
