Intervention across the lifespan (12 points)

Synopsis: Developments in evidence-based interventions are presented particularly in relation to child behaviour problem, school-related problems, parent-adolescent conflict, problems of adulthood such as marital discord, depression and anxiety, and problems associated with aging (health problems, bereavement/grief). Emphasis on the scientist-professional model and conceptual framework/steps for individual casework. Ethical and legal issues. Case management issues (eg keeping records).

Assessment: Major Assignment (6000 words): 70% + Minor assignment (equivalent 2500 words): 30%

Contact Hours: 3 hours per week

Prerequisites: Completion of an Australian Psychological Society (APS) accredited major sequence in psychology
