EDF5491Method and practice of teaching health B (6 points)(EDU) Leader: Lecturer: T.B.A.
Offered: Synopsis: This unit will consider application of theories associated with behavior change through exploring case study profiles for various health issues. Students will be asked to reflect critically on major international health issues as well as those that may be unique to a particular group, culture, individual or environment. The unit will continue to look at the responsibilities and competencies expected of health agencies and educators together with the role they play within school and community settings. The unit also explores how different environments can address health issues and become health promoting. Assessment: Engagement Portfolio: 70% (equivalent of 2800 words) + Negotiated Assignment: 30% (Varied format options. Approx 1200 words) Contact Hours: 3 hours per week Prerequisites: EDF5490 |
