Method and Practice of Teaching Economics A (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit is an introduction to the relationships between learning and teaching Economics at the post-compulsory levels as well as Economics and Business related units at the 7-10 levels. Teaching strategies and contexts for use in Economics and Business related classes in Years 7 to 12 will be explored. Methods for assessing and monitoring students will be introduced. The relationship between Economics, technology and society will be a focus.

Assessment: Assignments: 50%, Resources file: 30%, Class activities: 20% + on-campus - student participation in the unit is vital and an 80% attendance requirement is required so students can fully participate in the workshops.

Contact Hours: 3 hours per week

Prerequisites: A minor sequence (two years of study) in Economics from a recognised institution
