Teaching in schools (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit contains two interrelated modules. Module One focuses on the function and structure of the primary school in contemporary society and Module Two focuses on the use of Learning Technologies to facilitate teaching and learning. Module One will enable students to examine their own beliefs about and experiences in education as a basis by which to explore views about teaching and learning in the primary school and the varied functions it serves within contemporary society. Module Two focuses on two main areas: the acquisition of information and communication technology skills and their integration into the classroom

Assessment: PGO (Pass grade only) available in this unit. Satisfactory completion of 60 day practicum (Modules 1 and 2) + Professional portfolio (Module 1) 2500 words + Folio of practical activities (Module 2) 1500 words + Hurdle requirement of 80% attendance in on-campus program in Module 1.
