Gender and Schooling (6 points)

Synopsis: How gender identity may be shaped in society and in the school culture. The notion of difference has been integral to feminist thought and particular elements of this analysis are applied to issues of relevance in the education system. Students assess recent theory and particular developments in the design of curriculum with regard to inclusive schooling.

Assessment: (Clayton-campus only) - Essay (2000 words): 50% + Presentation (equivalent 1000 words): 30% + Report (1000 words): 20%. (Gippsland campus only) - Comparative exercise (1500 words): 40% + Essay (2500 words): 60%
