Marine and Coastal Education (6 points)

Synopsis: Introduction to the three major habitats of Australia's southern shores. Curriculum components of marine and coastal education, emphasising studies of temperate Australian shores. Students participate in a full-day excursion taking in the three major marine and coastal habitats on the southern Mornington Peninsula (rocky shores, beaches and sand dunes, and sheltered shores).

Assessment: Habitat assignment (3000 words): 50% + Curriculum assignment (3000 words): 50%

Contact Hours: 2 hrs per week + one full-day excursion
