Advanced Outdoor Recreation Practice (6 points)

Synopsis: It provides advanced theoretical and practical experience in selected outdoor recreation activities (ie canoeing, bushwalking, scuba diving, remote first aid, surf life saving, climbing, ropes courses). After completing the basic skill and training programs in selected activities students will advance their knowledge and development of skills in the acquisition of higher competencies. Students are focused on developing practical skills in selected areas with workshops and practical exercises. A minimum of 12 days fieldwork to gain experience and practical application of selected skills. Students will be encouraged to acquire associated professional awards in selected activities.

Assessment: Knowledge and performance competency tests for selected outdoor recreation activity: 50% + Detailed log of activities (2000 words): 25%. Plan and conduct of a program for a group in the selected outdoor recreation activity (1000 words): 25%.
