Camp Planning and Practices (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit aims to equip students with the skills, knowledge, resources, values, and philosophies of camping, and in particular, the role of the camp leader. The course will familiarise students with the planning, organisational and administrative aspects of residential base camping, particularly with respect to programs for schools. Practical application of theories and skills associated with residential camping will be incorporated into this unit which will include planning and attendance at camps.

Assessment: Two assignments (2000 words each): 30% each + Journal (3000 words): 40% + Hurdle requirement: camp practicum

Contact Hours: 3 hours per week

Prerequisites: EDF1604 or equivalent
