Early Childhood Expressive Arts (6 points)

Synopsis: The importance of a range of arts experiences, including music, creative movement, visual art, and drama, for children aged 0-8 years. Philosophical and pedagogical issues in the arts and early childhood education. The role of the educator as facilitator of children's creative, aesthetic and artistic development. The arts in a multi-cultural society. Young children with special needs and abilities.

Assessment: Written assignment (1500 words): 35% + Practical work (equivalent 2500 words): 65% + Hurdle: 80% attendance at music classes
