Synopsis: An examination of the social, political and economic contexts which influence and impact on Australian families, using Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory as the theoretical framework. The links between the macro, micro and chrono systems and their importance for family and child well-being, cohesiveness and stability. The professional's response to family diversity.

Assessment: Examination: 60% + Written assignment: 40% + Hurdle requirement: Eighty percent attendance for lectures and tutorials
