Children's literature: issues and analysis (6 points)

Synopsis: Upon successful completion of this unit, students should have a knowledge and appreciation of the features of a wide range of children's literature suitable for primary-aged children; the ability to critically analyse children's texts to determine their appropriateness for primary-aged children; and demonstrated an awareness of current issues relating to selecting and presenting literature to young children.

Assessment: Folio (2000 words): 50% + Presentation (10 minutes = 400 words): 10% + Written assignment (1600 words): 40%, + Hurdle: 80% attendance in lectures/tutorials
