EDF2601Adventure Education (6 points)(EDU) Leader: Mr M Brown
Offered: Synopsis: The philosophy and theory of adventure education. Experiential learning (as participant and leader/facilitator) in outdoor activities such as high and low ropes courses, canoeing and skiing. Students focus on facilitating the transfer of adventure experience into life-applicable learning. The unit emphasises planning, utilising, managing, and evaluating the use of small group, problem solving, trust and team building course elements. Assessment: Assignment (1000 words): 30% + Journal (2000 words): 40% + Practical exercise: 30% Contact Hours: 4 hours per week |
