Biophysical Foundations of Human Movement B (6 points)

Synopsis: In this unit students are introduced to fundamentals of exercise physiology and growth and development related to sport and outdoor recreation. Major sports, fitness techniques and outdoor skills will be introduced in a biophysical context with the opportunity to: understand the principles underpinning exercise physiology and human growth and development; become familiar with laboratory practice and data handling in human exercise physiology; measure components of human exercise physiology; develop sport and outdoor recreation skills and link them to theories of human development and exercise physiology.

Assessment: Laboratory work: Hurdle + Class test: 20% + Assignment: 40% + Examination (2 hours): 40%

Contact Hours: 3 hours per week

Prerequisites: EDF1602 or equivalent
