Synopsis: Comprising one-quarter of the level-four course, this unit is a challenging opportunity to pursue independently an individual experimental project and is likely to require extended effort. It normally includes a prepatory literature survey and developmental work such as design, construction and programming. Students are expected to embark on the project in December of the previous year.

Assessment: Laboratory and assignment work: 100%

Prerequisites: Level three substantially completed
