(ENG)

Leader: B J Lithgow

Offered:
Clayton Second semester 2003 (Day)
Clayton Second semester 2004 (Day)

Synopsis: This unit deals with the processing of biological signals to obtain and analyse diagnostically useful information. Techniques involving linear and non-linear processing, frequency spectra, amplitude distributions, correlation and more particularly wavelet analysis will be applied to the analysis of biological signals. Applications may include computerised tomographic imaging (2D and 3D), ocular artefact removal, speech processing and evoked potential analysis. Tools may include artificial intelligence systems. Hardware implementations will be on the TMS320C6x or TMS320C5x family of digital signal processors.
