Synopsis: Internetworking concepts and architectural models. Connectionless and connection orientated networks. Local Area Networks. TCP/IP protocol suite. Overview of the Internet Protocol (IP) routing protocols. The domain name system (DNS). Transport layer protocols: TCP & UDP. Internet security and firewall design. Future of the Internet.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory and assignment work: 30%
