Synopsis: Baseband transmission: line codes for spectral shaping, adaptive equalization. Modulated digital data transmission systems: spectra and error-rate performance of DSB-SC, vestigal sideband and QAM, optimum receiver principles, orthogonal and biorthogonal signalling, CDMA, partially coherent and non-coherent detection, combined coding and modulation, MSK and GMSK.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory and assigment work: 30%
