Synopsis: Control: Dynamic response of linear systems. Reasons for feedback control. Poles and zeros. Step response. Stability of feedback systems. Frequency response analysis and root locus analysis of feedback control systems. Steady-state error and system type. Electronics: Modes of operation of transistors. Simple amplifiers: quiescent point and small changes, simple biasing, small-signal equivalent circuits, linear circuit analysis. Simple inverters and logic gates. Ideal operational amplifiers. Elementary dynamics of operational-amplifier circuits. Operational amplifier practicalities: finite gain, frequency dependence. PSPICE simulation.
