3D modelling for design 1 (3 points)

Synopsis: Concepts, skills of techniques for 3D modelling of industrial design products. Through the modeling of the product the student will develop skills in understanding complex form and develop methods of dividing this into manageable sections suitable for computer manipulation. The student uses the 3D model to evaluate component layout, form, colour and texture. Completed model is used to produce photo-realistic images for artwork presentation, detail technical drawings and in the creation of prototypes.

Assessment: Assignment-based work: 30%. Studio-based design work: 70%

Contact Hours: 2 studio hours and 4 independent study hours per week

Prerequisites: DIS1102 or DIS2302
