Women's health in society (12 points)

Synopsis: This unit aims to increase the general practitioner's awareness of the special health needs of women. It is expected that this topic will lead to improved understanding of the manner in which women have historically been viewed and treated by health professionals, provide insight into what women expect and need from health services, and promote the provision of health care to women based on mutual respect. In addition, the needs of special groups such as adolescents, the elderly, aboriginal and mirgrant women are addressed.
