Synopsis: VLSI technology: A MOSFET transistor. A CMOS inverter and its diagrammatic representations. Basic CMOS technology. Design methodologies: Full-custom, standard cells, gate arrays, sea-of gates. Integrated-Circuit Design Tools. Hardware description languages.

Assessment: Examination: 60% + Assignments: 40%

Contact Hours: Two 1-hour lectures and one 2-hour practical class per week

Prerequisites: CSE1101 or equivalent
