Synopsis: This unit focuses on practical aspects of medication use. Including: drug information resources; basic background pharmacokinetics; pharmacodynamics; clinical pharmacology; stability of medicines. Medication and the elderly; Analgesics; Cytotoxics; Poisonings; Zoonoses; Practical pharmacy use in a rural community; Non-insulin dependent diabetes; Antibiotics; Cardiovascular drugs; Respiratory drug treatment. This unit it particularly relevant to nurse practitioners.
