Rural health issues and practices (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit explores the cultural, social and psychological aspects of living and working in a rural community. These issues will be discussed in relation to their impact on the health status of people in rural and remote areas and their access to health services. The unit also examines rural practice from the point of view of rural health professionals, including consideration of personal and professional issues and the on-going issues of recruiting and retaining health professionals in rural areas.

Assessment: Written assignments + Teleconference and discussion group participation
