Synopsis: Theoretical concepts, applications and research issues of mobile software agents. Topics include: Introduction to intelligent software agents, Introduction to mobile software agents, Mobile agent applications, Network Management, Electronic Commerce, , Design and development of mobile agent systems, Mobile agent toolkits, Mobile agent interactions and mobile agent security.

Assessment: Reading Component: 15% Research Paper and Presentation: 50% Project/Practical Assignment: 35%

Contact Hours: 4 hours per week

Prerequisites: Admission to a Faculty of Information Technology masters level program and a knowledge of java programming.
