CPE3015Visualisation and monitoring of computer networks (6 points)(IT) Leader: TBA
Offered: Synopsis: On successful completion of this unit, students should be able to: 1.evaluate a range of widely-used graphics tools and products for visualising and monitoring network systems in terms of their capabilities and limitations; 2.describe recent and likely future advances in the tools and technology available to support visualisation techniques; 3.demonstrate how to achieve a range of special effects in animation and 2-D and 3-D modelling which are commonly required for visualisation and monitoring; 4.design and implement software for the visualisation of networks using Java 2-D and 3-D APIs. Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 50% Practical assessment: 50% Contact Hours: 4 hours per week Prerequisites: CPE2001 |
