Synopsis: Continues the study of cell biology commenced in second year. Practical classes involve research projects in professional research laboratories. Topics covered include endocytotic and secretory pathways, cell division, cell cycle, oncogenes, apoptosis, cell adhesion and specialised cells.

Assessment: Examination: 45% + Assignment: 20% + Mid-semester exam: 15% + Project report: 20%

Contact Hours: Two 1-hour lectures and one 3-hour practical class per week
