Synopsis: This unit provides an overview of the infrastructure, strategy, software and hardware systems for commercial applications of the Internet. Topics covered include web-based tools for Internet Commerce, web server hardware and software packages options, software packages applications for fundamental Internet Commerce services, such as catalog display, transaction processing, and shopping carts, reintermediation trend of portals, search engine and software agents in business applications.

Assessment: Assignments: 40% + Examination: (2 hours): 60% + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the unit

Contact Hours: One 2-hour lecture and one 1-hour laboratory per week

Prerequisites: BUS9520 or equivalent

Prohibitions: BUS9002, CPE5008
