Synopsis: Applications of decision support systems and related techniques. Topics presented include the nature of managerial work, business process design, simulation model development and decision support system (DSS) design principles.

Assessment: Either an introductory simulation assignment or a 3000-word essay at the lecturer's discretion: 15% + A simulation model: 15% + Examination (2 hours): 70% + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the unit.

Contact Hours: One 2-hour lecture and one 1-hour laboratory per week

Prerequisites: A business systems computing unit at first or second year level

Prohibitions: CFR3305, ETC2490, BUS4502, BUS5502, MGF5521, IMS5005
