BTF2300Health law (6 points)(BUS) Leader: Mr Lyall Phillips
Offered: Synopsis: Introduction to health services sector legal obligations, the common law duty of care, consent, professional liability, criminal law aspects, fiduciary duty, contractual liability, and access to records. Legal implications of medical research: human reproduction, reproductive technology, human tissue, dying and death. Administrative and policy issues of the employment relationship relevant to the health sector, including employment contracts, anti-discrimination law, health and safety law, due diligence and termination of employment. Assessment: Assignment (2500 words): 30% + Examination (3 hours, open book): 70% Contact Hours: 3 hours per week |
