Biology of Australian vertebrates (6 points)

Synopsis: The diversity and biology of Australian vertebrates will be examined in relation to the history, biogeography and ecology of the region. The major emphasis will be on physiological, behavioral and nutritional adaptations of selected representative groups in relation to their ecology.

Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 50% + Written reports: 40% + oral presentation 10%

Contact Hours: two 1-hour lectures and the equivalent of 3 hours of practical and/or field work per week

Prerequisites: 12 points from level two BOT/ZOO/BIO, including ZOO2042 or BIO2242 or permission
