BIO2011Ecology (6 points)(SCI) Leader: Dr Michael Barry
Offered: Synopsis: Introduction to the science of ecology - the distribution and abundance of organisms and their interactions with their physical and biotic environments. Topics include ecological sampling, ecology of populations; species interactions, including competition and predation; community ecology including responses to disturbance, production ecology and materials cycling. Assessment: Continuous assessment: 15% + Project report (1500 words): 25% + Mid-semester and end of semester exams (total 2.5 hours): 60% Contact Hours: Two 1-hour lectures and one 3-hour practical or equivalent Prohibitions: BIO2051 |
