Human Relationships and Interpersonal Communication (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit introduces students to the nature and types of human relationships and the significance of interpersonal communication as a determinant of relationships. It examines the development, maintenance and termination of relationships with special emphasis on the skills used to understand and improve human relationships and interaction patterns. A diverse range of people skills are explored and students are encouraged to apply theoretical perspectives in practice contexts.

Assessment: Tutorial presentation (750 wods): 20% + video analysis (1000 words): 20% + test (750 words): 20% + essay (2000 words): 40%

Contact Hours: 2 hours per week

Prerequisites: BHS1340 or equivalent
