Contemporary Issues in Tourism (12 points)

Synopsis: This contemporary unit is designed to focus on key segments of the tourism industry in Australia, such as indigenous tourism, special event tourism and independent tourism among others. The unit is presented via a number of key industry seminars and a proposed field work study tour to destinations including Sydney and far North Queensland.

Assessment: One 5500 word research paper: 60%, Group fieldwork assignment & presentation 20%, Seminar presentation 10%, Web page design 10%

Contact Hours: 7 x 3 hour lectures, 2 x 2 hour student presentation seminars and a 7 day intensive study tour with industry semibnars and field work
