Synopsis: This final industry based learning component of the course will involve a significant body of work at an appropriate professional and intellectual level providing the student with the opportunity to practice and refine the skills gained throughout all subjects, whilst still under the supervision of a clinical teacher. The focus will be on working as a member of a team whilst developing the clinical problem solving skills required to manage difficult and complex situations and undertaking the full spectrum of roles and responsibilities required of the ambulance paramedic, with advice and support being provided as required.

Assessment: Structured learning activities: 20% + Formative assessments: 30% + Case studies: 30% + Major project: 20% + Practical skills assessment: Pass/Fail

Contact Hours: 22 weeks supervised industry experience including 312 hours structured learning experiences

Prerequisites: employment by an Ambulance Service
