Metals and jewellery design 1 (6 points)

Synopsis: Studio projects introduce design theory as a tool for developing concepts and aesthetic concerns when making jewellery and small metal objects. Metals and processes are introduced to enable taking and sometimes modifying the niitial concept through to a completed object. The unit also includes a study of design issues with particular focus on contemporary jewellery and metalsmithing.

Assessment: Folio: 80% Visual diary: 20%

Contact Hours: 4 hours of lectures, demonstrations, and tutorials, and 8 hours of independent study

Prerequisites: Admission to a course of the Faculty of Art and Design

Corequisites: N/A
