Synopsis: Topics include the nature and importance of strategic planning and strategic management; the strategic planning process and thinking strategically; identifying missions, values and strategy; strategic analysis; strategy formulation; choosing strategic alternatives; strategy implementation, review, assessment and control; issues in international business; strategic issues for financial institutions.

Assessment: Class participation: 5% + Syndicate assignment: 35% + Examination (3 hours): 60%
